If you are looking for a wool cover that fits perfectly on a newborn and on a baby up to 2-3 months old, the newborn size will be the best choice. PUPPI Newborn wool covers fit babies up to about 6.5 kg and provide a perfect fit and no big bottom effect. Well thought cut allows proper airflow in the diaper, and ensures that our wool cover will fit on any absorbent insert and PUPPI fitted diaper in Newborn size.
Wool cover is an outer part of a cloth diaper which is supposed to keep the moisture of absorbent insert inside the diaper.
When it's time to change the baby's nappy - we change the absorbent insert inside the diaper (or the fitted diaper), and we hang the wool cover for airing. It will be ready to use at the next diaper change.
Puppi newborn diaper covers are made of two layers of extremely soft and thin merino wool flannel. Colorful snaps and decorative stitching make this diaper a conversation piece. The leg elastics are soft yet very stretchy, which will give your newborn a comfort fit.
Once lanolised, these covers hold moisture very effectively. Wool is an extremely versatile fabric for cloth diapering- it is breathable, temperature regulating (perfect for both cold and hot days), soft, and naturally antibacterial. Lanolin breaks down urine into salts and water, so it does not need to be washed as often as PUL diapers. Simply hang to dry between uses. However, a special washing and re-lanolising procedure is necessary on wash day.

Our wool covers can be used with any absorbent inserts, cotton flat diapers or prefolds. For newborns, we especially recommend using our fıtted diapers with bamboo newborn insert, which will best protect the baby's clothes from getting dirty due to diaper leakage.
Most babies need no more than 4 or 5 diaper covers.

Because in first months of their lives babies make milky poo couple times a day, diaper should not only absorb the moisture, but also prevent it from leaking out. Due to this it’s not recommended to use only wool cover with insert - this system will work great later, in first 3-4 months of baby’s life it’s best to use one of the following diapering systems:
✅ an absorbent layer: cotton flat diapers folded into airplane or kite fold (fastened with Snappi Fastener), the waterproof layer: wool cover.
As the alternative to cotton flat diapers you can use more absorbent Bio-cotton "Bird Eye" flat diapers
If cotton flat diapers or Bio-cotton "Bird Eye" flat diapers won’t be absorbent enough for you, you can boost the absorbency by adding hemp/bamboo newborn doubler.
We recommend PUPPI wool covers in size NB to use together with:
- cotton flat diapers in sizes 50x50cm (19,7"x19,7") and 60x60cm (23,6"x23,6")
- Bio-cotton "Bird Eye" flat diapers in sizes 50x50cm (19,7"x19,7") and 60x60cm (23,6"x23,6")
✅ an absorbent layer: PUPPI fitted diaper in NB size with Quick&Easy insert in newborn size, the waterproof layer: wool cover or Disana Wool Shorties.
